The threaded thing is mysterious and textured, and the only one I can't identify, and the only one that isn't nature, so it caught my attention. The top one of the birch-like bark is really striking because of the way you cropped it, just barely showing the outline of the tree trunk, much more interesting than either closer or farther out would be.
That threaded thing is the top of an electric meter on the side of a concrete building. But I wanted to crop it in a way that emphasized its textures and geometric forms, and would divorce it from its object identification. So cool, it worked! I kept you guessing! :o)
Welcome and thanks for visiting! My name is Elizabeth Michaud. By day, I'm a technical writer. In my free time, I'm also an amateur photographer. This blog gives me a chance to share my take on the visual world, and my love of beauty, mystery, color, and play. My current tool for exploring that world is a Kodak EasyShare V1253 point-and-shoot camera. Full disclosure: I received this camera as a Christmas gift from a friend who has no relationship with Kodak.
So tell me what you think! Do you have any thoughts on what you see here? What should I try next? What excites you most about the new ways digital cameras provide for playing with light and images?
Nice! I give up, what is the threaded thing?
